Communications & Events Policy

Mystic Krewe of Pegasus — Effective April 23, 2025

By registering for or attending any event hosted by the Mystic Krewe of Pegasus (“Pegasus,” “the Krewe,” or “the organization”), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms set forth in this policy.

1. Communications Consent

By registering for a Pegasus event, you consent to receive communications from the Mystic Krewe of Pegasus regarding the event for which you registered and future events hosted by the organization. These communications may include, but are not limited to, event confirmations, reminders, schedule updates, cancellation notices, and announcements of upcoming Krewe events.

We respect your privacy. We do not sell, rent, or share your contact information with third parties for their marketing purposes. You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time by contacting us at admin@pegasusmemphis.org.

2. Photo, Video & Recording Release

By attending a Pegasus event, you acknowledge and agree that photographs, video recordings, audio recordings, or other media (“Recordings”) may be captured in which you may appear. You grant the Mystic Krewe of Pegasus and its authorized representatives a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, publish, and distribute such Recordings for any purpose related to the promotion and marketing of the Krewe and its activities, including but not limited to posting on social media, the Krewe’s website, newsletters, and other marketing materials.

If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, you are responsible for communicating that preference to event organizers on the day of the event. The Krewe will make reasonable efforts to honor such requests but cannot guarantee exclusion from incidental background capture in a public event setting.

3. Alcohol, Substance & Conduct Policy

All attendees agree to abide by all applicable local, state, and federal laws governing the possession, purchase, and consumption of alcohol and controlled substances at or in connection with any Pegasus event. You must be of legal drinking age (21 or older) to consume alcohol at any Krewe event.

The Mystic Krewe of Pegasus does not condone the use of illegal substances at any of its events. Attendees who appear to be intoxicated or impaired to the point of endangering themselves or others may be removed from the event at the sole discretion of event organizers.

By attending, you agree to hold the Mystic Krewe of Pegasus, its officers, directors, members, volunteers, and event staff harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or liabilities arising from your own illegal, negligent, or irresponsible conduct in connection with the use or possession of alcohol or any controlled substance.

4. Assumption of Risk & Liability Waiver

Participation in Pegasus events, including but not limited to parades, parties, outdoor gatherings, and social functions, involves inherent risks. By registering for or attending any Krewe event, you voluntarily assume all risks of personal injury, property damage, or loss arising from your participation, including risks caused by the actions of other attendees.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you release, waive, and discharge the Mystic Krewe of Pegasus and its officers, directors, committee members, volunteers, and agents from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to your attendance at or participation in any Krewe event.

5. Code of Conduct

All attendees are expected to treat fellow guests, Krewe members, and event staff with respect and courtesy. Behavior that is abusive, threatening, harassing, or discriminatory on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by law will not be tolerated.

The Mystic Krewe of Pegasus reserves the right to remove any attendee from an event, at any time and without refund, whose conduct is deemed disruptive, harmful, or inconsistent with the values of the organization, at the sole discretion of event organizers.

6. Right of Admission

Registration for a Pegasus event does not constitute a guarantee of admission. The Mystic Krewe of Pegasus reserves the right to limit attendance due to capacity constraints, safety considerations, or other circumstances beyond the Krewe’s control. In the event of a capacity-related denial, the Krewe will make reasonable efforts to provide a refund of any registration fees paid.

7. Event Cancellation & Refunds

The Krewe reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or modify any event due to inclement weather, force majeure events (including acts of God, public health emergencies, or government orders), venue issues, or other circumstances outside the Krewe’s reasonable control. In the event of a cancellation, the Krewe will make reasonable efforts to notify registered attendees and provide refunds of registration fees where practicable. The Krewe is not responsible for any incidental or consequential costs incurred by attendees in connection with a cancelled event (e.g., travel or accommodation expenses).

8. Privacy & Data Use

Information collected during event registration (including your name, email address, phone number, and payment details) is used solely for the purpose of administering events and communicating with registrants as described in Section 1. Payment processing is handled by third-party providers who maintain their own privacy and security standards. The Krewe stores registration data only as long as necessary for event administration and record-keeping purposes.

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access or disclosure. For questions about how your data is handled, please contact admin@pegasusmemphis.org.

9. Amendments

The Mystic Krewe of Pegasus reserves the right to update or amend this policy at any time. The most current version will always be available on this page. Continued registration for or attendance at Krewe events following any amendment constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
